Floating Worlds (2019)
Floating Worlds is a audio visual film, evoking the parallels and connections in the world around us.
After capturing a multitude of landscapes and patterns ocurring in the natural world, such as the rough Oregonian Sea, the snowy hills of northern Hokkaido and the rugged rock formations of the Faroese Coast, I used this visual library to create visually rhyming, harmonious compositions.
These compositions and colors were heavily influenced by my time in Japan, where I experienced how the Japanese find magic in nature, and also where I discovered Ukiyoe. Ukiyoe is woodblock printing, and directly translates to ‘Pictures of a Floating World’
